Tomkins, Thomas

(1572, St. Davids, Pembrokeshire, England – buried 9 June 1656, Martin Hussingtree, Worcester)
   Prolific composer of widely circulated Anglican anthems (over 120) and service music, he studied with William Byrd and was a Gentleman of the Royal Chapel from at least 1620.
